About the Role

TransAlta is seeking a highly skilled Settlements Financial Analyst to join our Energy Trading & Marketing team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, remittance, and payments for our energy trading activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, remittance, and payments for energy trading activities
  • Collaborate with credit, cash management, accounting, and AP teams to facilitate prompt payments
  • Monitor receivables to ensure timely receipt and proper allocation of payments
  • Prepare monthly General Ledger account analyses and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis
  • Conduct variance analysis and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in energy marketing, commodities trading, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in finance, commerce, accounting, or a related business field
  • Strong technical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a proven track record of handling multiple tasks, deadlines, and shifting priorities
  • Strong relationship management skills, adept at building and maintaining cross-functional, collaborative partnerships
