Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced craftsman who can read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and prepare layouts in conformance to building codes. You will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware
  • Scheduling and coordinating work on sites
  • Surveying building locations and levels
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Requirements
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in the trade
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Physical stamina to lift and maneuver heavy materials
