Key Responsibilities:
As a Communications and Engagement Advisor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that support our advocacy objectives and increase our visibility as a key interest holder in the post-secondary sector. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and executing communications plans that align with our advocacy priorities
  • Establishing a clear brand identity and maintaining it across all internal and external communications channels
  • Creating engaging content, including press releases, social media posts, newsletters, blog articles, and annual reports, to elevate our message and engage diverse audiences
  • Cultivating relationships to secure media coverage and raise awareness about our work and the issues affecting post-secondary students
  • Managing our social media presence, including creating content calendars, curating posts, and engaging with followers to build a strong online community
  • Working closely with student leaders and associations to ensure their interests are represented in our work and that they remain engaged participants
  • Planning and executing communications campaigns, ensuring they are aligned with our advocacy priorities and effectively engage the target audience

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree or diploma in communications, public relations, business, or a related field. You should also have 2-5 years of experience directly related to the job description. Additionally, you should have strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, as well as experience managing social media accounts and online communities. You should also be able to build and maintain professional relationships with multiple partners, including media contacts, students, and partner organizations.
