Job Overview:
We are looking for a Communications and Engagement Advisor to join our small and dynamic team. With 2-5 years of experience in communications, PR, and/or community engagement, you will play a key role in amplifying our advocacy efforts through compelling storytelling, member engagement, and executing key organizational activities.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that support our advocacy objectives and increase our visibility as a key interest holder in the post-secondary sector. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and executing communications plans that align with our advocacy priorities
  • Establishing a clear brand identity and maintaining it across all internal and external communications channels
  • Creating engaging content, including press releases, social media posts, newsletters, blog articles, and annual reports, to elevate our message and engage diverse audiences
  • Cultivating relationships to secure media coverage and raise awareness about our work and the issues affecting post-secondary students
  • Managing our social media presence, including creating content calendars, curating posts, and engaging with followers to build a strong online community
  • Working closely with student leaders and associations to ensure their interests are represented in our work and that they remain engaged participants
  • Planning and executing communications campaigns, ensuring they are aligned with our advocacy priorities and effectively engage the target audience

About the Role:
This is a full-time permanent position that offers a salary range of $55,000 - $60,000 per year. You will work closely with our small and dynamic team to amplify our advocacy efforts and make a meaningful impact on the lives of post-secondary students in Alberta.
