Overview

Riverside Opticalab Ltd, a world-leading manufacturer and supplier of optical solutions, seeks an exceptional Supervisor for its Edging and Mounting department. As part of EssilorLuxottica Group, we pride ourselves on delivering personalized services and product offerings that meet diverse customer needs.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced leader to oversee the production operations of the Edging and Mounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of over 25 employees, ensuring adherence to EssilorLuxottica and Riverside Opticalab Group's policies, principles, values, and health and safety rules.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-Day Operational Management:
    • Control workflow, analyze returns or rework, and make necessary corrections to maintain quality and speed of lens manufacturing;
    • Follow production schedules and daily department organization in collaboration with other departments;
    • Propose technical or organizational solutions to production problems;
    • Write and analyze KPI production reports;
    • Ensure staff supervision to maintain a productive atmosphere focused on results while upholding world-class quality standards;
  • Human Resource Management:
    • Ensure a conducive environment for achieving objectives and proper functioning of the group in accordance with human resources management policies, health and safety rules, and Essilor's principles & values;
    • Master company human resources management policies;
    • Evaluate and conduct performance reviews of personnel;
    • Participate in recruitment process and employee training;
    • Manage and support team leads;
    • Document and maintain personnel files by recording significant events;
    • Manage staff and apply disciplinary measures when necessary;
  • Administration:
    • Administer payroll by confirming hours worked and ensure vacation planning for the group;
    • Follow up on personnel movements (illness, incident reports, etc.) with Human Resources and inform the immediate supervisor;
    • Administer payable (purchases/supplier, receipt slip, invoice, etc.);

Requirements:

  • Experience in edging and mounting is an asset;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in personnel management;
  • Ability to manage priorities and multiple tasks in a changing and fast-paced environment;
  • In-depth knowledge of optics (optical language, edging & mounting, types of lenses, products, reading prescriptions);
  • Positive leadership, excellent communication, autonomy, and strong sense of initiative;
  • Strong analytical skills and technical and organizational problem-solving skills;
  • Rigorous, honest, results-oriented, and customer-centric (internal and external);
  • Possess a strong ability to adapt to dynamic changes and evolving circumstances;
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Knowledge of production management methodologies, techniques, and tools;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written);
  • Bilingualism preferred;
