Job SummaryRamp agents play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of airport ground support services. As a Ramp Agent at Swissport, you will be responsible for providing under-wing ground support services, including loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshaling, water, and lavatory servicing.
Key Responsibilities- Marshall aircraft during arrival and departure
- Unload passenger luggage and air cargo, bulk and containers/pallets, onto carts and dollies
- Provide special handling of luggage/cargo as required/directed
- Deliver passenger luggage to the claim area and unload it onto the conveyor system
- Deliver air cargo to the appropriate recipient
- Operate ground support equipment, including tow tractors, tow bars, belt loaders, container loaders, baggage tugs, water/lavatory service trucks, aircraft ground power units, aircraft air start units, air stairs, aircraft de-icing units, baggage carts, cargo dollies, and passenger vans
- Collect and load mail, live animals, wheelchairs, and child strollers onto aircraft
- Service aircraft water and lavatories
- Inspect ramp areas adjacent to the gate and aircraft for debris and remove/dispose of it when found
- Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager
- Previous ramp experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and DA an asset
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to work in inclement weather
- Flexibility to work on various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays)
- Excellent Health & Safety Awareness
- Ability to lift heavy objects that could reach 70 pounds (32 kilograms)
