Job Summary

Ramp agents play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of airport ground support services. As a Ramp Agent at Swissport, you will be responsible for providing under-wing ground support services, including loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshaling, water, and lavatory servicing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marshall aircraft during arrival and departure
  • Unload passenger luggage and air cargo, bulk and containers/pallets, onto carts and dollies
  • Provide special handling of luggage/cargo as required/directed
  • Deliver passenger luggage to the claim area and unload it onto the conveyor system
  • Deliver air cargo to the appropriate recipient
  • Operate ground support equipment, including tow tractors, tow bars, belt loaders, container loaders, baggage tugs, water/lavatory service trucks, aircraft ground power units, aircraft air start units, air stairs, aircraft de-icing units, baggage carts, cargo dollies, and passenger vans
  • Collect and load mail, live animals, wheelchairs, and child strollers onto aircraft
  • Service aircraft water and lavatories
  • Inspect ramp areas adjacent to the gate and aircraft for debris and remove/dispose of it when found
  • Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager
Requirements
  • Previous ramp experience is a plus
  • Valid driver's license
  • Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and DA an asset
  • Good English communication skills
  • Ability to work in inclement weather
  • Flexibility to work on various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Excellent Health & Safety Awareness
  • Ability to lift heavy objects that could reach 70 pounds (32 kilograms)
