Psychotherapy Clinician
We are seeking a highly skilled Psychotherapy Clinician to join our team as a Clinical Research Associate in the Department of Psychiatry at the Cumming School of Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a clinical trial exploring the effectiveness of psilocybin for the treatment of persistent post-concussive syndrome.
This role involves providing psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy according to a protocol-based, structured manual. You will educate study participants on the investigational compound, including potential side effects, duration of effects, and expectations during drug administration sessions. Your responsibilities will also include facilitating preparatory work with participants to build trust and rapport prior to medication administration, supporting study participants during drug administration sessions, and facilitating subsequent therapy sessions at weekly intervals after drug administration.
To be successful in this role, you must have a Master's degree or PhD in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Psychology, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing, and be fully registered by a recognized provincial regulatory body. You should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working directly with patients in a medical/psychiatric clinic setting, with experience with brain injury patients being a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
The estimated salary for this position is between $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
This is a casual (hourly) position based on the length of grant funding, with the possibility of extension. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to groundbreaking research, we encourage you to apply.
