The position of Senior Financial Controller at Scotiabank offers a competitive rewards package and opportunities for career growth.

As the Manager, Global Finance Testing, you will be responsible for evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of regulatory, compliance, and/or operational controls.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and reporting of assigned first line Global Finance testing engagements to evaluate control effectiveness.
  • Conduct interviews and walkthroughs with stakeholders to gain an understanding of Finance programs, processes, and controls.
  • Develop and execute appropriate testing procedures to assess compliance with regulatory reporting guidelines and financial accounting standards.
  • Analyze test results, identify weaknesses, and draft reportable issues for discussion with process owners and Finance Management.
About You:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA/CPA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, preferably in the Financial Sector.
  • Proven track record of ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
