CAMH is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional care and services to individuals with mental health and addiction issues. We are seeking a highly skilled Disability Case Specialist to join our Health, Safety & Wellness department.

Job Summary:

The Disability Case Specialist will play a critical role in supporting CAMH employees who are experiencing non-occupational related illnesses or injuries. This position will manage all aspects of the claim administration process, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the claim administration process, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with employees, managers, HR partners, union representatives, and insurance providers to develop return-to-work plans
  • Implement and evaluate return-to-work strategies, including modified work programs and permanent accommodation arrangements
  • Prepare metrics and absence reports to identify trends and inform internal stakeholders
  • Liaise with department leadership to ensure consistency of processes and identify areas for improvement

Requirements:

  • Three to five years of progressive experience in absence disability claims management and return-to-work principles in a unionized environment
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policy interpretation, Human Rights legislation, and disability management principles
  • Preference for a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Kinesiology, or one of the allied health/rehabilitation sciences
  • Certification as a Disability Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Return to Work Coordinator (CRTW) is an asset
