Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and physically fit individual to join our team as a Winter Grounds Maintenance Worker. As a key member of our resort operations team, you will be responsible for performing snow removal activities on Blue Mountain Resort property and affiliated properties. This includes removing snow using shovels and/or snow blowers, applying ice melt and/or sand as required, and conducting ice patrols to ensure the safety of our guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform snow removal activities on Blue Mountain Resort property and Resort affiliated properties
  • Apply ice melt and/or sand as required
  • Conduct ice patrols and assess general hazards to ensure the safety of our guests and employees
  • Monitor material levels in SOS bins around the Resort
  • Record detailed notes and logs on activities and material applications throughout shift
  • Make basic repairs/maintenance of departmental equipment such as snow blowers
  • Inform Leadership of supplies required such as equipment parts, ice melt, etc.
  • Responsible for waste management of trash, recycling and food waste (organic matter)
Requirements
  • Enjoy working outdoors and able to handle and function in inclement weather conditions
  • A willingness to work additional hours and shifts as needed
  • Must be physically fit; able to lift and carry heavy objects and materials (snow, ice melt bags, etc.) and perform repetitive tasks involving shoveling, bending, stretching, walking and kneeling
  • Must be able to follow established procedures, take responsibility for completing assigned tasks and document accurately
  • Knowledge of Resort an asset
  • Valid Class "G" Drivers License with satisfactory drivers' abstract required
