About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our product development team at Amico Mobility Solutions in Richmond Hill, ON. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative products that meet our customers' needs.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and experience working with CAD software. They will be responsible for creating detailed designs, prototypes, and technical documentation for new products and design changes. Additionally, they will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new mechanical components and assemblies using 3D solid modeling CAD software (SolidWorks).
  • Create detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documents to support design and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and other critical assessments to ensure design integrity.
  • Develop and maintain technical regulatory documentation, including design master records and design history files.
  • Participate in design reviews, verify and validate product performance, and test prototypes.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

  • A University Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with P.Eng. status required.
  • At least 5-6 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in medical device manufacturing or instrumentation.
  • Proficient in 3D solid modeling CAD software (SolidWorks) and detailing.
  • Good understanding of the design process and ISO quality systems (ISO 9001 or ISO 13485).
  • Working knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T, plastic injection molding, jig & fixture design, and basic electronics.
Compensation Package

The salary for this position is estimated to be $120,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
