Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and provide exceptional service, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Determine the reason for the customer's visit and explain how to shop at Pearle Vision.
  • Perform tasks accurately and thoroughly, despite time pressure and customer volume.
  • Identify and resolve customer issues promptly, focusing on solutions rather than limitations.
  • Educate customers on Pearle Vision products, guarantees, and services, including eyewear care tips and follow-up services.
  • Under guidance from an Optician, handle tasks such as taking and recording measurements, adjusting or fitting eyewear, and ensuring finished eyewear meets Pearle Vision's optical standards.
  • Understand and troubleshoot vision issues, determining the correct course of action.
  • Repair and adjust eyewear according to customer visual and comfort needs.
  • Demonstrate good product knowledge, taking the initiative to describe features and benefits of various lenses and frames.
  • Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that meet their lifestyle, RX, and price needs, suggesting improvements and recommending solutions.
  • Operate the software system accurately, inputting customer and prescription information, and ensuring eyewear is processed and followed through on.
  • Collect proper payment and handle transactions securely, following company procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Registered in State licensure program (where applicable) or equivalent schooling
  • Previous optical and retail experience
  • Knowledge of State/Prov Licensing and Guidelines
  • Knowledge of current optical theory and practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Awareness of current fashion trends
  • Strong sales skills
  • Familiarity with cash register, computers, and calculators

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior sales training
