Director, Advanced Planning (Tax and Estate Planning)

As a key member of our team, the Director, Advanced Planning (DAP) plays a critical role in providing expert tax and estate planning advice to high net worth clients through financial advisors. The DAP is responsible for staying up-to-date on tax and estate planning solutions and educating financial advisors and internal audiences on new and existing products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced tax and estate planning solution advice to high net worth clients through financial advisors
  • Stay current with tax and estate planning solutions and educate financial advisors and internal audiences
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Director to drive wealth and insurance product sales
  • Promote and deliver effective tax and estate planning advice to our sales team and key distribution partners
  • Deliver and promote sales tools that support Sun Life's products and proprietary financial planning concepts
  • Consult with high net worth clients and their allied professionals to identify tax-planning opportunities
  • Deliver training workshops and associated materials for financial advisors
  • Participate in industry profile building activities

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of personal and corporate tax planning, including retirement compensation arrangements, charitable gifting, wills and trusts, and business ownership and succession planning
  • Experience working in the high net worth market
  • Completion of the CICA In-depth Tax Program and the In-Depth Tax Issues for the Owner Manager Business course (considered an asset)
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and training skills
