Technical Animator Job Description

IFG - International Financial Group is seeking an experienced Technical Animator to join our team. As a Technical Animator, you will be responsible for collaborating with peers to develop and maintain gameplay animation systems in UE5.

In this role, you will work closely with our animation team to create and support workflows that empower animators to achieve our animation quality goals, while also meeting our gameplay responsiveness and behavioral objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with peers to design and implement animation state machines, behaviors, and runtime solutions that align with studio best practices.
  • Work with engineers and Leads to create animation behavior tools and techniques that enable the development of complex movement systems accessible to content creators.
  • Troubleshoot in-game animation implementation issues and provide solutions to improve our animation pipeline.
  • Support the animation team with technical animation issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in AAA video game development, working with real-time animation systems.
  • Experience with Unreal is a plus.
  • Real-time engine experience, ideally in Unreal creating animation blueprints.
  • Python experience is a benefit.
  • Self-motivated, creative problem solver with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Passion for the industry and understanding of industry trends and technologies.

Salary Range: CAD $116,000 annually. Factors affecting pay may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
