Estimating Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team in delivering high-quality project estimates for major infrastructure projects. If you have a strong background in project estimation and leadership, this role could be an excellent opportunity to grow your career.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of estimators in developing project estimates for labor, material, and subcontractor costs.
  2. Manage project estimates to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  3. Chair team meetings to discuss design options and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  4. Guide risk assessment processes and manage risk registers to minimize project risks.
  5. Ensure smooth handoff of estimating documents to project execution teams.
  6. Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project success.
Requirements:
  1. 10+ years of experience in major project estimation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  2. Proven expertise in large infrastructure projects ($100M+) for a heavy civil contractor, including bid management.
  3. Strong understanding of construction drawings, project controls, and contract terms.
  4. Proficiency in MS Excel/Word, P6, Hard Dollar, or similar estimating software.
  5. Excellent people management and mentorship skills.
