Opportunity Overview:

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Center for Excellence. As a key member of our team, you will provide family therapy services and follow-up to a varied caseload consisting of families of youth who are enrolled in Step Up Step Down and experiencing distress related to moderate to severe mental illness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards.
  • Provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning.
  • Consult and collaborate with teams and community services.
  • Provide supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students.
  • Provide input into program, policy and/or procedure development.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
  • Five years post graduate experience working with children, youth, and families with complex needs required.
