Bakery Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Baker - Retail to join our team at Cortes Natural Food Co-op. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods, ensuring high-quality products meet our established standards.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
- Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies, and organize and maintain inventory.
- Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards, and inspect kitchen and food service areas.
- Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Will train.
- Physical Demands: Ability to distinguish between colours, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, hand-eye co-ordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
