Job Summary
We're looking for a charismatic and knowledgeable Bartender to lead our bar team at Toridori. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming bar environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and valued.
- Prepare and serve beverages to the highest standards, using your knowledge of cocktails, wine, and beer to make recommendations and create unique experiences.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar environment, adhering to health and safety standards and ensuring that all equipment and supplies are in good working order.
- Work collaboratively with the bar team to ensure seamless service, communicating effectively and providing support as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with menu knowledge, making recommendations and answering questions to enhance the guest experience.
- Manage cash and credit transactions accurately, handling cash, credit card payments, and operating the point-of-sale system.
- Participate in ongoing training and development, staying current with industry trends and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
- Provincial Liquor certification
- Proven experience as a bartender for at least 6 months
- Enrolled or completed a Hospitality, Food & Beverage and/or Special Events Program is an asset
- Wine, beer, and cocktail knowledge is required
- WSET preferred but not required
- Passion for food, beverage, and providing excellent customer service
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift and move beer kegs, liquor, and wine boxes
