About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Contract Specialist to join our Finance and Corporate Services division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing effective contract management and procurement services to support our business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and draft contracts, statements of work, amendments, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with suppliers and contractors.
  • Advise business units on contract elements, risks, and pitfalls, ensuring compliance with internal policy, legislation, and supplier/contractor agreements.
  • Verify accuracy of information and ensure compliance with relevant statutes.
  • Exchange information to clarify, instruct, and advise internal client groups and external suppliers and contractors on business solutions, including regulatory compliance matters, issues associated with scope of work, and service level agreements.
Requirements
  • Contract management skills, able to read through a contract and connect provisions to the scope of work and identify risks and considerations to address.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with different groups and personalities to work towards a common goal.
  • Critical thinking skills, able to make complex decisions regarding sourcing contracts and see the bigger picture.
  • Ability to provide feedback, guidance, and keep on track with procurement policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service mindset, proactive, and able to manage own time.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, iValua, and SAP.
  • Paralegal or Legal Assistant certification or legal experience would be an asset.
  • 2-3 years business-related role with a minimum of 1 to 2 years contract drafting experience.
