Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team at Thompson Rivers University. As a Counsellor, you will provide individual and group counselling services to students, focusing on supporting survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide short-term personal counselling to students, with a focus on supporting survivors of sexual and gender-based violence
  • Offer crisis counselling and academic success counselling to students
  • Facilitate counselling workshops, groups, and seminars
  • Participate in case conferences and work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team
  • Provide consultation services to TRU employees regarding student-related issues
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require a Master's degree in counselling psychology or equivalent, with supervised clinical experience at a graduate level. You will also need two years of experience in providing counselling in a post-secondary setting, as well as experience working with survivors of sexual and gender-based violence and group and/or workshop facilitation.
