Maintenance I Job Description

Under the supervision of the Manager/Supervisor, the Maintenance I is responsible for maintaining the mechanical, electronic, and direct digital control (DDC) and electrical systems owned and operated by the School board. This includes tasks such as plumbing, burner mechanics, electricians, and other staff and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair mechanical, electronic, and DDC systems
  • Perform plumbing, burner mechanics, and electrical work
  • Oversee projects involving outside contractors, consultants, and other workers
  • Work under the supervision of the Manager/Supervisor

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Secondary school diploma and a two or three year community college technical/engineering diploma, or provincial Red Seal certification in a related trade
  • Broad based general maintenance skills and experience with institutional buildings
  • A minimum of one year related work experience
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
