Forestry Specialist

Job Summary: As a Forestry Technician with Wright Canada Holdings Ltd, you will play a crucial role in forest management by collecting essential data for forest planning and operations. Our team focuses on pre-harvest assessment, including riparian assessment and mapping, boundary and road layout, identifying logging hazards, timber reconnaissance, and GPS traversing.
This is a full-time field position with limited office work in the Northern Saskatchewan region. Crews can expect to work 10-hour days on a 10 on 4 off rotation in remote locations. Accommodations may vary, including tent bush camps or logging camps. Per diems will be provided when food is not available through accommodations. Both entry-level and experienced technicians are welcome to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timber Cruising and Assistance
- Boundary and Road Layout and Traverse
- Riparian Assessment, Ecotype Mapping, and Road ECE's
- Crossing and Site Plan Data Collection
Requirements:
- A safety-conscious attitude
- A love of the outdoors
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- 1 year of Forestry-related experience
- Post-secondary education in natural resources, forestry, or a related field (considered an asset)
- Previous experience operating ATVs and pick-up trucks safely on various road conditions (considered an asset)
- Punctuality, dependability, and accountability in the field
- Ability to work away from home for extended periods
