About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Protection Technician to contribute to our team's efforts in pioneering long-term radiological storage sites in Canadian history. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the restoration of public and private land for future Canadians, while developing your career in radiation safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain the site's radiation protection program, ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Conduct gamma radiation field measurements and surface contamination assessments using radiation detectors and swipe sampling.
  • Manage personal dosimeters for the workforce and deploy radon monitors, ensuring calibration of all radiation detection equipment.
  • Compile and analyze routine data for compilation into reports, providing insights for site management and radiation safety teams.
  • Support site activities by responding promptly to requests for radiation protection services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in nuclear engineering, radiation protection, or health physics (or related field).
  • Demonstrated understanding of radiation safety principles and ability to apply them in a practical setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Eligibility for CNL Reliability Status, with a minimum of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand, and/or Australia.
