Highly Skilled Court Administrator Wanted for Manitoba Justice

Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Deputy Registrar/Staff Justice of the Peace/Court Clerk Monitor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing various court-related duties, including clerking and monitoring Provincial and King's Bench criminal, family, and civil court sittings.
About the Job:
The successful candidate will be required to work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining discretion at all times while handling sensitive evidence during court hearings. You will also assist the judiciary, members of the legal profession, police, and public as required. In addition, you will hold the designation of a Deputy Registrar and Staff Justice of the Peace and perform the duties associated with those appointments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clerk and monitor Provincial and King's Bench criminal, family, and civil court sittings.
- Record court proceedings, mark and record exhibits, read charges, read oaths to witnesses, maintain order in the courtroom, complete court dispositions, and all related paperwork.
- Perform pre and post-court related duties.
- Assist the judiciary, members of the legal profession, police, and public as required.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience working in a legal or office environment performing data entry, preparing, and processing complex documents in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks in pressure situations with strict deadlines.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as contribute to a respectful workplace.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent English verbal communication skills with the ability to project vocally without error.
- Excellent English written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook) or equivalent programs.
Desired:
- Completion of a recognized Legal or Administrative Assistant program or other related post-secondary education.
What We Offer:
A competitive salary range of $51,519.00 - $67,387.00 per year, plus remoteness allowance if applicable. Other benefits include regular full-time employment, opportunities for career advancement, and a dynamic work environment.
