Nova Scotia Health Authority is a leading healthcare provider in the region, seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Specialty Site Lead for Colchester East Hants Health Centre.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled clinician with strong leadership abilities to oversee medical staff at our health centre. As Specialty Site Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, working closely with local physicians to maintain standards and addressing operational issues that impact quality and safety.
Salary RangeThe estimated annual compensation for this position is between $50,000 and $100,000, depending on previous experience.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with NSHA bylaws and regulations among medical staff.
- Represent departmental interests to Zone Executive Director and/or Department Head.
- Lead Emergency Preparedness activities as Physician Lead.
- Manage site overcapacity issues from a departmental perspective.
- Maintain service continuity through scheduling practices, including equitable on-call schedules, vacation management, and locum utilization.
- Chair regular department meetings and attend committee meetings as required.
- Monitor standards, quality, and resource utilization of the department.
- Participate in clinical services planning.
- Contribute to respectful workplace initiatives and recruitment/retention efforts.
- Support new hire and onboarding processes.
- Lead incident review processes in liaison with Quality and Patient Safety representatives.
Candidates must hold a valid MD license in Nova Scotia and demonstrate past and ongoing leadership training.
