About the Role:
The BC SPCA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team at the Maple Ridge Animal Centre. As an Animal Care Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional animal care and welfare, adhering to the Five Freedoms and the BC SPCA's animal health policy.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, sanitary, and efficient shelter environment.
- Assist with animal intake, adoption procedures, and other front office duties.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, volunteers, and other staff members.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance animal care skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
- Demonstrable interest in animal welfare and a sound knowledge of animal behavior and health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
- Ability to work as part of a team and prioritize tasks effectively.
