Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support the County's strategic objectives.
- Oversee the County's financial management activities, including accounting, payroll, and assessment.
- Align the County's financial plans with its business plans, ensuring a seamless integration of financial and operational strategies.
- Prepare and present financial reports, statements, and analyses to Council and senior management.
- Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure the County's financial assets are protected and its financial risks are managed.
- Lead and manage a team of financial professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the County's financial plans are aligned with its operational strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations, laws, and best practices, ensuring the County's financial management activities are compliant and effective.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a municipal or public sector setting.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior management, Council, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Lethbridge County offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $170,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
