Dental Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated dental assistant to join our team at Go Orthodontistes. As a dental assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our dentists in their daily tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for dental procedures by explaining the treatment plan and answering any questions they may have.
  • Assist dentists with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, and preparing materials.
  • Help manage medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
  • Assist dental hygienists with procedures when necessary.
  • Provide great patient care by being attentive, empathetic, and professional.
  • Record treatment information in patient records accurately and efficiently.
  • Expose dental x-rays from dental diagnostics and care for dental x-ray equipment.
  • Give patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs.
  • Collect and record medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
  • Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
  • Care for dental equipment and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Form preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
  • Order dental supplies and maintain dental equipment inventory.
Requirements:
  • Certification or associate degree in an accredited dental assisting program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
  • Consistently professional appearance and attitude.
  • Able to provide great patient care.
