Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Electronic Systems Engineering

The University of Regina is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in the area of Electronic Systems Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate lab courses in electronic systems topics, including communications, micro-electronics, and control systems.
The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Regina offers a comprehensive range of programs in Electronic, Environmental, Industrial, Petroleum, and Software Systems Engineering. The Faculty has a strong commitment to providing an excellent "systems approach" to engineering education, with a focus on producing graduates with a strong base of technical knowledge and complementary skills.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in electronic systems engineering and experience in teaching and developing lab courses. They will also have the ability to work successfully in a team environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and Faculty service.
Preference will be given to individuals with industrial experience in communications and/or micro-electronics and those with previous teaching experience.
The University of Regina is a comprehensive institution with a strong emphasis on teaching and research. The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science has a unique Co-operative Education and Internship program and offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs.
RequirementsThe successful candidate will have one of the following:
- B.A.Sc. or equivalent in Electronic Systems Engineering or a closely related area, with the appropriate credentials for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan, or
- Diploma of Applied Science/Technology in Electronic Systems Engineering or a closely related area, with the appropriate credentials for registration as an Applied Science Technologist in Saskatchewan.
The successful candidate will also have the ability to develop, revise, and conduct undergraduate lab courses in one or more of the areas of program specialization, as well as in core electronic systems topics.
The successful candidate will need to become familiar with Very High-Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL), Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), and System-on-chip (SoC) devices, and have demonstrated experience in designing, prototyping, and troubleshooting electronic circuits.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching and developing lab courses, as well as Faculty and university service.
