Job Title: Staff Accountant, Audit and Assurance

At Clarity Hiring, we are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant - Audit and Assurance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting and a passion for delivering exceptional services to our clients.

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Assurance team to complete audits and reviews, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist with smaller audits from start to finish, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
• Travel to clients as needed, building strong relationships and providing exceptional customer service.
• Contribute to larger audit engagements and tax assignments, leveraging your expertise to drive results.
• Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, keeping up-to-date with changing regulations and requirements.
• Prepare Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) returns, financial statements, and personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Prepare Financial Statements, demonstrating a keen understanding of financial reporting and analysis.
• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns, providing expert guidance to clients and ensuring compliance with tax laws.
• Complete bookkeeping for clients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
• Assist with documentation related to financial planning, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

Qualifications:
• Post secondary accounting education is a must, with a strong foundation in financial accounting and auditing.
• Minimum 3 years experience in public accounting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services.
• CPA designated or pursuing is a must, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
• Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation, with a keen focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing effective interaction with staff and clients.
• Strong working knowledge with CaseWare, Profile/TaxPrep, MS Office, and QuickBooks, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and systems.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, with a willingness to collaborate and contribute to team goals.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a keen ability to build lasting relationships and exceed client expectations.
