Island Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director & Chief of Staff to join our team at West Coast General Hospital.
Job Summary:The Site Medical Director & Chief of Staff is a leadership position that requires a strong understanding of medical governance, operations, and quality. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring integrated, high-quality service delivery within the site.
Key Responsibilities:- Co-lead and oversee activities to ensure service delivery is integrated within the site.
- Link with Departmental Medical Leaders to address matters of physician governance, including professional medical practice issues.
- Co-monitor site performance with a focus on issues that arise between programs, and facilitate course corrections when necessary.
- Ensure appropriate investigation and resolution of site-related PSLS and PCQO events.
- Collaborate with Departmental Medical Leaders and Medical Affairs to address individual practitioner quality issues.
- Co-develop and implement change management plans to engage and support site physicians and staff through change.
- Oversee activities that advance technology and data use to improve service delivery using the electronic health records (EHR) in collaboration with the Quality Systems team.
- Assess, monitor, and anticipate site resource needs and work with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs within available resources.
- Strong leadership and governance skills.
- Experience in medical operations and quality improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a co-leadership model.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
