Job Summary

Holcim is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crew Boat Operator to join our team. As a key member of our marine transportation team, you will be responsible for safely navigating and operating our crew boats, ensuring the transportation of personnel and cargo to and from our mine site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Crew Boat Operations
    • Safely navigate and operate the crew boat, adhering to all maritime regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct safety drills and checks, ensure all safety equipment is maintained and accessible, and provide safety briefings to passengers and crew.
    • Oversee routine maintenance of the vessel, including engine checks, fuel levels, and general upkeep to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
    • Act as the primary responder to on-board emergencies, including medical, mechanical, and environmental incidents. Ensure all crew members are trained in emergency procedures.
    • Maintain accurate logs of all voyages, detailing passengers, cargo, routes, weather conditions, and any incidents.
    • Maintain clear communication with port authorities, company dispatch, and other vessels to ensure coordinated operations and adherence to schedules.
    • Supervise the safe and efficient loading and unloading of passengers and cargo, ensuring proper securing and balance of loads.
    • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal maritime regulations, including environmental laws and company-specific policies.
  • Mine Site Duties
    • Perform regular cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in offices, restrooms, common areas, and other facilities at the mine site.
    • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and equipment. Maintain an organized storage area for custodial materials.
    • Properly use and maintain equipment. Report any equipment malfunctions or needs for repair.

Requirements

  • Commercial Boat Operators License and Level 1 FA required.
  • Safety Oriented.
  • Able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed.
  • Able to work unsupervised.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Mechanically Inclined.
