Overview

Nestled in a stunning coastal region, the role of the Boat Crew Operator is essential for the seamless transportation of personnel to and from operational sites. This position is pivotal in ensuring that all journeys are conducted safely and efficiently, in accordance with established protocols and regulations.

The Boat Crew Operator is tasked with the operation and upkeep of marine vessels, ensuring that all transport activities are performed in a secure manner while adhering to company guidelines. Responsibilities extend beyond navigation, encompassing the loading and unloading of cargo, securing materials, and maintaining cleanliness aboard the vessel during downtime.

Shift Schedule:

This position operates on a rotating two-week schedule, with shifts from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

Compensation:

Hourly Wage: $28.00

Key Responsibilities

Marine Operations:

  • Navigation and Operation: Skillfully navigate and operate the crew vessel, ensuring compliance with maritime laws and company standards.
  • Safety Management: Conduct regular safety drills, maintain safety equipment, and provide briefings to all passengers and crew members.
  • Maintenance: Oversee the routine maintenance of the vessel, including engine inspections and fuel management, to guarantee optimal performance and safety.
  • Emergency Response: Act as the primary responder for onboard emergencies, ensuring all crew are trained in emergency protocols.
  • Log Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of all voyages, including passenger counts, cargo details, routes, weather conditions, and any incidents.
  • Communication: Ensure effective communication with port authorities and company dispatch to coordinate operations and adhere to schedules.
  • Loading and Unloading: Supervise the safe and efficient loading and unloading of passengers and cargo, ensuring proper securing and balance.
  • Compliance: Uphold compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and company policies.

Site Duties:

  • General Cleaning: Perform routine cleaning tasks across various facilities, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Supply Management: Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, maintaining an organized storage area.
  • Equipment Care: Properly utilize and maintain equipment, reporting any malfunctions or repair needs promptly.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Required: Commercial Boat Operators License and Level 1 First Aid certification.

Experience & Skills:

  • Strong focus on safety.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime and varied shifts as needed.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
