Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pavement Design Engineer to join our team in the Toronto office. As a member of our pavement engineering team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to assist other offices in the Greater Toronto Area.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Pavements Engineering, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the planning and coordination of fieldwork;
  • Supervising drilling sub-consultant for subsurface investigations as required;
  • Preparing borehole logs using GINT, core logs photographs, and summaries;
  • Carrying out fieldwork using high technology pavement equipment such as FWD, GPR, and profilometer;
  • Conducting pavement condition surveys and analyzing data collected from Laser Crack Measurement Survey (LCMS) and Video Survey;
  • Processing GPR data using the roadscan module in RADAN 7.0 GPR data reduction software developed by GSSI;
  • Back-calculating FWD data in AASHTO DARWin 3.0 Pavement Design, Dynatest ELMOD, and/or BAKFAA to determine pavement layer moduli (Asphalt layer and Granular) and resilient modulus of the subgrade;
  • Analyzing traffic data to calculate Equivalent Single Axle Loads (ESALs);
  • Preparing engineering designs for flexible and rigid pavements using the AASHTO 93 pavement design methodology, MTO-MI 183, and/or Municipal Standards;
  • Working independently and collaboratively with project teams including field personnel, project managers, draft persons, and administrative staff using interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure project tasks are completed on time and within budget;
  • Applying and promoting Englobe's health and safety rules.
