Job Title: Floor Covering Installer

Central Okanagan Public Schools is seeking a skilled Floor Covering Installer to join our operations team. As a key member, you will be responsible for inspecting existing floors, repairing and replacing floor coverings, and completing associated documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect existing floors to identify potential hazards and determine the necessary repairs
  • Repair and replace floor coverings using a variety of equipment and materials
  • Complete all associated documentation, including time cards, work orders, and inspection reports
  • Estimate costs and time required to perform work and suggest material and equipment improvements
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate and a valid B.C. Drivers License are required
Requirements:
  • Completed Grade 12
  • B.C or Interprovincial Trade Certificate in the floor covering trade
  • Ability to read plans and specifications for the flooring industry
  • Ability to estimate costs and time required to perform work
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe use of power tools and equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years experience as a journeyman level floor covering installer
  • First Aid Level 2 Certificate

  • Full-time continuing position with 40 hours per week
  • Competitive hourly rate of $35.88 per hour
