Job Summary:

The Summer Camp Counsellor is a key member of the York University team responsible for delivering a safe and engaging summer camp experience for children. This role requires a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to providing quality programming and support to campers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging games and activities that promote physical activity, teamwork, and socialization
  • Monitor and supervise campers at all times to ensure their safety and well-being
  • Provide quality instruction and guidance in sports and other activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program plans and schedules
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a positive and inclusive camp experience

Requirements:

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a camp or sport instruction setting
  • Excellent verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
