Produce Clerk

Federated Co-operatives Limited is seeking a highly skilled Produce Clerk to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, guiding customers to specific items, and assisting in receiving and inspecting fresh produce.

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering their queries, and resolving any issues they may have.
• Guide customers to specific items in the store, ensuring they can find what they need quickly and easily.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting fresh produce, verifying that it meets quality standards.
• Stock, face, cull, and rotate inventory following the First In, First Out (FIFO) process to ensure that products are sold before they expire.
• Wash, cut, and package product for the fresh cut program, maintaining high-quality standards at all times.
• Water plants and change water in flowers as required, ensuring they remain healthy and visually appealing.
• Ensure consistent supply and display of fresh produce, meeting customer expectations for freshness and variety.
• Operate equipment safely, adhering to company policies and procedures to prevent accidents.
• Maintain temperature logs and ensure all food and equipment temperatures comply with food safety guidelines, preventing contamination and spoilage.
• Verify package dates and remove expired products, guaranteeing that only fresh and safe products are sold.
• Stay informed about Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalls and CAC's required response, providing customers with current information and ensuring their safety.
• Practice safe food handling procedures, wearing appropriate attire and adhering to company guidelines to prevent cross-contamination.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager, contributing to the smooth operation of the store.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure and adapting to changing situations.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, some heavy lifting required; applicants must be physically capable of performing these tasks.

The estimated salary for this position is between $25,000 and $40,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
