Job Description

Senior Cloud Database Architect

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Database Architect to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our database engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing large-scale database systems that run across thousands of servers across multiple data-centers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop highly scalable distributed database systems that provide availability, reliability, and performance guarantees.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and standards for database development.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
