Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Heavy Duty Cleaner to join our team at FirstService Residential. As a Heavy Duty Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our properties, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and service restrooms, including restocking supplies and sanitizing surfaces
  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors and stairways, ensuring a clean and safe environment
  • Gather and dispose of rubbish and waste materials, using powered equipment when necessary
  • Report any needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment, using treated dust mittens and cleaning compounds
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels
  • Perform grounds and parking lot maintenance, including litter removal and snow salting
  • Load and unload supplies, and move heavy furniture and equipment using dollies and handcarts
  • Replace light bulbs and fuses, and perform related work as assigned
Requirements
  • Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service
  • Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides
  • Ability to follow instructions and operate janitorial tools and equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of building and property security procedures
