Job Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team at Rogers Communications. As a key member of our Technology team, you will play a critical role in connecting Canadians to the people and things that matter most.

Job Summary:

The Senior Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for leading the assessment of business needs, collaborating with business stakeholders and cross-functional development teams, and translating business requirements into detailed functional specifications for IT development teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the assessment of business needs utilizing a structured requirements process to prioritize immediate business needs and recommend options, risks, and cost vs. benefits.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional development teams to elicit, document, and analyze business requirements for new projects, system enhancements, or process improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for IT development teams.
  • Assist in the design of technology solutions that align with business requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives, status, and issues.
  • Document and present findings and recommendations to management concisely.
  • Work with various business and delivery teams to ensure good, solid, well-written requirements that allow IT delivery teams to create solutions that align to the requirements.
  • Create and maintain requirements specification documents, use cases, and process models.
  • Aid in the testing process by reviewing and validating test cases, participating in testing support activities, and documenting test results.
  • Help business stakeholders prioritize and manage changing requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design high-level system architectures that meet business needs.
  • Communicate business requirements and functional specifications for the design and implementation of business solutions to multiple development teams.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to address vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.
  • Analyze the viability of the solution to meet delivery timelines and quality.
  • Support one or more complex business processes, requiring integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business.
  • Work with business partners to align technology solutions with business strategies.
  • Work with Corporate system team members to support the development of the Commissions and Settlements Roadmap.
  • Support all technical teams throughout all phases of the project.
  • Drive end-to-end delivery working with the integrated development and QA teams to ensure delivery stays on track, defects are resolved in a timely manner per the SLA.
Requirements:
  • University degree (preferably in computer science, engineering, or information technology)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects
  • Possesses leading-edge technical knowledge
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Knowledge of Oracle DB, SQL Server, and Azure cloud technologies
  • A solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile and Waterfall), and integration methods
  • An in-depth understanding of business processes, industry trends, and the ability to align technology solutions with long-term business goals
  • Nice to have: Certification such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
