Short Order Cook

The Short Order Cook is a key member of our Nutrition Services team, responsible for preparing fresh, to-order room service menu items for patients, clients, and customers in a fast-paced line cooking environment.
As a Short Order Cook, you will be responsible for the ingredient control of recipes, including measuring and portioning ingredients, and producing food items for the patient menu. You will also be responsible for following cost control procedures, safe food handling procedures, therapeutic, allergy, and menu standards, and providing overall customer service according to departmental standards.
This is a casual relief position, working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team to meet the demands of a busy kitchen environment.
About YouWe are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a passion for food preparation and customer service. You will have a Grade 12 or GED, and 1 year of related experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
