About the Role


The position of Building Systems Mechanic is available at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute within the University Health Network. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the facilities and ensuring a safe environment for patients.

Job Description


The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs to grounds and landscaping equipment, as well as other duties related to patient care and facility operations. Key responsibilities include responding to calls for service, performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks throughout the building, and ensuring compliance with patient safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications


To be eligible for this position, candidates must have secondary education or higher, relevant experience in building environmental systems operation, and Class 1 & 2 qualifications or higher. A strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is also required, as well as computer literacy and the ability to read drawings. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
