About the Role

As a seasoned project professional, you will play a pivotal role in driving our infrastructure projects forward. Reporting to the Operations Director, your key responsibilities will include project planning and start-up, financial management, pre-construction activities, execution, and close-out.

Key accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with Preconstruction to prepare, revise, and monitor reports on costs related to developing project budgets.
  • Manage subcontracting processes, including facilitating initial scope review meetings, finalizing agreed processes, developing subcontract scopes of work, and managing subcontract distribution and final execution.
  • Determine the quantity of budget estimates/deliverables for clients.
  • Assist in hiring key personnel and subcontractors for projects.
  • Oversee project administration and daily operations, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Manage project schedules and milestone dates, ensuring close-out checklists are prepared and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain relationships and communication tools with suppliers and other key project personnel to verify materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and personnel are obtained and delivered when required.
  • Review performance standards and metrics against which teams will be measured.
  • Monitor the change management process, including identifying change events, submitting change notices, pricing and tracking change work, optional changes in project scope, and negotiating change orders with clients.
  • Ensure project sites and company assets are secure, maintaining a safe and respectful working environment at all times.
  • Provide input into the completion of organizational and responsibility matrices at the start of projects.
  • Review contract documents to gain a clear understanding of deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage the review and communication of objectives for critical milestones, budget, schedule, and client satisfaction measurements with project team members.
  • Assist in providing regular status reports to company executives and project-steering committees, detailing project status and recommending actions.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Prior experience managing projects in the $5-$25 million dollar range.
  • Background working at a General Contractor.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of civil infrastructure industry experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing multi-disciplinary construction projects.
  • Ability to anticipate client requirements, work proactively regarding risk and claim management, and operate autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Balanced leadership and technical skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Proficiency using scheduling and project management software.
