Position Purpose

This role is responsible for learning and developing skills associated with performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting equipment in our bakery operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow bakery safety and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Set up production lines and assist with changeovers as required
  • Perform routine preventative, proactive, corrective, and emergency activities
  • Effectively use the SAP maintenance system to create work orders, complete PMs, and find parts
  • Attend and successfully complete the in-school portion of training as outlined by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities
  • Maintain accurate log books and daily shift reports
  • Ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities related to food safety, legality, and quality
  • Adhere to all applicable job procedures outlined in the SOP manual
  • Adhere to GMPs and health and safety rules outlined in the employee handbook
  • Adhere to food safety practices and ensure they are being followed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must attend and be successful in the in-school portion of training as outlined by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in maintenance is preferred

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include standing for extended periods, reaching, bending, walking, lifting up to 50lbs, and performing repetitive actions. Please refer to the PDA for all physical requirements of this position.

Work Environment

Aspire Bakeries is a 24-hour/7-day manufacturing operation. The temperature in the production area can range from degrees Fahrenheit depending on the department. The production areas are often loud, exceeding 85 decibels, due to the machinery running; earplugs are required to be worn while in the bakery at all times. Depending on the position, some employees may be exposed to dust; dust masks and respirators are available if required.
