Geotechnical Engineering Specialist

At Thurber Engineering Ltd., we are committed to delivering high-quality services in geotechnical engineering. As a Geotechnical Engineer with our team, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects and develop your skills under the guidance of senior professionals.
We undertake challenging assignments that require expertise in steep terrain, deep foundations, compressible soils, landslides, contamination, and other complications. Your role will involve coordinating and carrying out surface and subsurface site investigations, including borehole logging, sampling of soil and rock, and geological mapping.
In addition to these tasks, you will also be responsible for coordinating and carrying out field inspections of construction works and material testing of geotechnical materials. You will prepare and write proposals and technical reports, conduct geotechnical engineering analysis, supervise technicians and junior engineers, and manage project schedules and budgets.
To succeed in this position, you will need a post-graduate degree in Geo-Engineering discipline such as Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental Engineering, or Engineering Geology. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Geo-engineering field in Canada is also required, along with prior experience in consulting engineering or construction. Strong technical, oral, and written communication skills are essential, as well as exceptional analytical and project management skills.
Salary RangeThe estimated annual salary for this position is between $90,000 and $120,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
