At DoorDash Canada, we're seeking a skilled Senior Technical Lead for Product Development to join our Platform Innovation team.

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced engineering leader who can guide and grow a team of talented backend and client-side engineers. As a Senior Technical Lead, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of 9+ engineers, providing architectural guidance and professional development. You'll also encourage innovation, teamwork, and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a team of exceptional backend and client-side engineers delivering end-to-end engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap.
  • Navigate ambiguity in a fast-changing business environment.
  • Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 9+ engineers.
  • Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking.
  • Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend, web, & mobile) of 8+ engineers.
  • 8+ years of industry experience.
  • Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment.
  • Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with Android app development best practices.
  • Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition.
  • Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback.
  • Growth mindset - you're eager to expand your skill set and excited to carve out your career path in a hyper-growth setting.
  • Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity - things can change quickly, and you'll need to help the team evolve.

Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 per annum, depending on experience.
