Rehabilitation Assistant Palliative Care Opportunity

At St Michael's hospital, we are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our Palliative Care team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in implementing patient care plans;
  • Conduct group activities and individual therapeutic functions with patients;
  • Report patient information to Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses;
  • Transport patients as required;
  • Facilitate groups for therapeutic exercise, socialization, and life skills;
  • Provide support for patients with special needs;
  • Read medical records to assist in implementing treatment plans;
  • Participate in wheelchair inspection program.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Graduate of a recognized PTA/OTA program;
  • Proven experience working with the aged and individuals with physical and/or cognitive disabilities;
  • Excellent communication, listening, and observation skills;
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks;
  • Establishing a comfortable rapport with patients and inter-professional team members;
  • Caring and compassionate interactions with patients and families;
  • Good attendance and performance record.
