Job Title: Sawmill Machine Operator

Crabbe Lumber is seeking a skilled Sawmill Machine Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining sawmill equipment to produce high-quality lumber products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine logs and rough lumber to determine the best cutting plan
  • Operate saws, trimmers, and planers to cut and shape lumber to specifications
  • Start and monitor conveyor systems to move logs and lumber through the sawmill
  • Set up and adjust saw equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure equipment is in good working order
Work Environment:

As a Sawmill Machine Operator, you will work in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on safety and quality. You will be required to work at heights, lift heavy loads, and be physically fit to perform the demands of the job.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a sawmill or related industry
  • Ability to work at heights and lift heavy loads
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
