Guidewire Developer

CB Canada is seeking a skilled Guidewire Developer to collaborate with our client in Toronto on a high-visibility software project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the configuration/functional analyst to design and develop solutions that meet the client's needs.
  • Develop custom integration points to connect Guidewire applications with other internal and external systems, ensuring seamless data exchange.
  • Design, test, and debug complex applications, as well as develop their environments, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Improve and ensure adherence to established practices, processes, and guidelines, promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Design, develop, and unit test configuration solutions to meet the client's requirements.
  • Configure screen layouts, including creation of new screens, to enhance user experience.
  • Write business rules and other business logic in GOSU, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Configure operational parameters, such as roles and permissions, user attributes, regions, etc., to ensure secure and controlled access.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with Claim Centre/Contact Manager using Guidewire Studio.
  • 5+ years of experience developing n-tier web applications using Java and Java-based application frameworks.
  • Understanding of SOA principles and solid knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.
  • Strong knowledge of server-side Java technologies, including JSP, JSF, Servlets, EJB, JDBC, JMS, WebSphere, Tomcat, Docker, Openshift/Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Eclipse, IBM RAD, IBM RTC, Toad.
  • Experience with open-source frameworks and tools, such as Hibernate, Ivy, Ant, Maven.
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment is preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Microservices experience is a significant asset.
  • Insurance industry knowledge is beneficial.
  • Experience with Oracle 11+, PLSQL, and database performance tuning is an asset.
