We are seeking a skilled and experienced Furniture Restoration Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to restore and refurbish various types of furniture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Restore and refurbish worn-out webbing, springs, and other furniture parts.
  • Lay out, cut, fabricate, and install upholstery using traditional techniques.
  • Tack, glue, or sew ornamental trim, braids, or buttons to create unique and eye-catching designs.
  • Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces to maintain their original beauty.
  • Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to ensure precise and high-quality results.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Furniture Design, Carpentry, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in furniture restoration or related field.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Able to distinguish between colours and have excellent colour vision.
  • Ability to work with heavy loads and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong initiative, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, accuracy, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including client-facing interactions.
  • Judgement, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move furniture weighing over 45 kg (100 lbs).
Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Compensation

Our estimated salary range for this role is $40,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience and location. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth.
